Corrections Policy

How factual errors are reported, fixed, and documented on this site.

Updated

Our commitment

We correct errors quickly, visibly, and without excuses. An article that has been corrected is more trustworthy than one that pretends it was always right.

How corrections are handled

Minor errors — typos, formatting issues, broken links — are fixed silently. They do not change the article’s meaning and do not trigger an update note.

Factual errors — wrong specifications, incorrect benchmark figures, misattributed claims — are corrected in the text, and the article’s “Updated” date is refreshed. Where the error was material to the article’s conclusion, a correction note at the top or bottom of the article describes what was wrong and what changed.

Verdict-level errors — mistakes that change a review score or a recommendation — receive a prominent correction note and, where relevant, a re-tested verdict.

Reporting an error

Anyone can report an error through our contact page. Reports should identify the article and the specific claim in question. We review every report; when a correction is warranted, we aim to publish it within a few business days.

What we do not do

We do not delete articles to hide errors, and we do not silently rewrite conclusions. If an article becomes obsolete rather than wrong, we either update it or clearly mark it as outdated.
