Editorial Guidelines
The standards every article published on this site must meet: independence, verification, sourcing, and clear separation between editorial and commercial content.
Updated
Independence
Our editorial coverage is produced independently. Advertisers, affiliate partners, and manufacturers have no influence over what we cover, what we conclude, or what scores we assign. No one outside the editorial team reviews articles before publication.
Accuracy and verification
Every factual claim in an article must be verifiable. Technical specifications are checked against primary sources — datasheets, standards documents, and official documentation — rather than secondary reporting. Benchmark figures are measured by us or clearly attributed to their source.
When we state an opinion or a projection, we phrase it as one.
Sourcing
We link to primary sources wherever possible. When coverage relies on information we cannot independently verify, we say so explicitly. Anonymous sourcing is not used for technical claims.
Bylines and accountability
Every article carries a byline — either a named author or the editorial desk. The byline owner is accountable for the article’s accuracy. See our Corrections Policy for how we handle errors.
Commercial separation
Editorial content and commercial content are separated structurally, not just visually:
- Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every affected article — see the Affiliate Disclosure.
- Sponsored content is labeled at the top of the page — see the Sponsored Content Policy.
- Review verdicts are never conditioned on commercial relationships — see the Review Methodology.
Content updates
Articles about evolving technology age. When we materially update an article, the visible “Updated” date changes and significant revisions are noted in the text. Minor fixes (typos, formatting) do not change the updated date.
